Why we built this
ParamAI started from a simple frustration: turning a story idea into even a rough visual usually means either learning illustration software or hiring someone. Free AI image and text generation has gotten good enough that a lot of that first-draft visualization can happen instantly, in a browser, for free — so we built a small, focused set of tools around that idea instead of one general-purpose "type anything" box.
Each tool on this site is scoped to a specific, common creative need — a comic panel, a manga panel, a four-panel strip, a character sheet, an anime portrait, a superhero, a villain, a cover, a cartoon, or a short story — and quietly adds the genre-specific art direction language that makes the difference between a generic AI image and something that actually looks like it belongs in that genre.
How it works, technically
ParamAI is a static website — no server-side account system, no database of your prompts. When you generate an image, your browser sends the request directly to AI, a free, open-source, community-run network of volunteer computers that share their spare GPU time to generate images for anyone. When you generate text (on the AI Story Generator), your browser sends the request directly to a similarly free, public text-generation API. We don't see or store what you type.
Because these are free, shared, volunteer-powered services, generation speed depends on how busy they are at any given moment — that's normal, and not a bug in this site.
Who's behind ParamAI
ParamAI is an independent, small side project, not affiliated with any of the underlying AI model providers it uses. It exists to make a handful of good, free creative tools easy to find and use in one place. See our Contact page to get in touch, or Privacy Policy for details on data handling.
